I’ve been working with small businesses for over 20 years helping them as they make the first tentative steps on the road to building sustainable businesses and over the last couple of years I’ve been teaching new businesses what they should be doing to create a digital success of their business.
No one ever said it was going to be easy.

There is no Magic Button; in one class I ran I placed a magic button at the front and asked if people would push it if by doing so they could have a website and their social networks all set up. All raised their hands.

We would all push the magic button if it was going to save us time and a great deal of energy. But sadly there is no magic button. One way or the other the hard-work has to be done.

Either do it yourself or get someone to do it for you.

Of the people that I was helping;
70% of the businesses had never had a website
30% were already using either Wix, Weebly or WordPress

So for just over 70% I was able to help them in the right direction with WordPress and for the others I was able to tell them about the error of their ways.

Thankfully most of those that were using Wix or Weebly weren’t too far down the road and could abandon their sites and move onto to WordPress. And all of them did just that after I demonstrated the functionality and versatility of WordPress.

What I’d been doing was giving them the confidence in how to approach their online presence, not only their websites but also their digital profiles. Many people don’t know the first thing about websites – they may visit them but other than that they have been concentrating on starting their business. And that is fine, after all that is what we are here for.

So let us be your magic button.
